Lifford Old Court House
For centuries Lifford has been the Gateway to Donegal. Set in a rich Archeological
Hinterland, Lifford grew to became a Stronghold of the O'Donnell Clan,
then the Administrative Centre for the Plantation of Ulster in Donegal
and later the Centre of the Legal System in the county. This
impressive history unfolds in a new Permanent Exhibition opened in Lifford.
Presented in the Magnificent Courthouse built 1746, the exhibition uses
Models, Audio-Visual Techniques, Talking Heads and a wide range of
Artifacts, Illustrations and Research to bring the History of Donegal
alive.
