The Beltany Stone Circle was built around 1400-800 BC. It is made up of 64 large stones enclosing a low earth platform. It is not clear what thay were used for, but thay were probably associated with religious rituals which may have included observations of the sun and the moon.

This ancient site is an impressive arrangment of stones and is situated on an elevated site with beautiful views of the sorrounding countryside.
Beltany Stone Circle is situated a few miles south of Raphoe town. This is about a 20 minute drive from Letterkenny and is well sign-posted.
